2022-06-26 ㅣ No.155929 헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 6월 26일 <용기있는 삶이라는 것> A Courageous Life 우리는 종종 "용기를 내시라"고 서로에게 말을 건냅니다. 용기는 영성적인 덕성입니다. 용기라는 낱말의 뿌리는 "염통,마음"을 뜻하는 라틴어 cor입니다. 용기 있는 행동은 마음에서 우러나오는 겁니다. 용기 있는 말은 마음에서 솟아나오는 겁니다. 하지만 마음은 그냥 감정이 서려있는 데가 아닙니디. 마음은 우리 존재의 가온이고, 모든 생각, 감정, 열정, 결정의 고갱이입니다. 그러므로 용기있는 삶은 가온에서 살아가는 겁니다. 그 삶은 가온에 뿌리를 깊게 내리고 살아가는 거라 겉만 번지르르한 삶과는 정반대인 겁니다. 해서 '용기를 내시라'는 건 '가온에서 솟구치는 말을 하시라'는 뜻입니다. "내 아들아, 신중함과 현명함이 네 눈에서 벗어나지 않도록 하여라. 그것들이 네 영혼에 생명이 되고 네 목에 아리따움이 되리라. 그러면 너는 안심하고 길을 걸으며 네 발은 어디에도 부딪치지 않으리라. 네가 누워도 무서워할 것이 없고 누우면 곧 단잠을 자게 되리라." (잠언3,21-24) A Courageous Life JUNE 26 “Have courage,” we often say to one another. Courage is a spiritual virtue. The word courage comes from the Latin word cor, which means “heart. A courageous act is an act coming from the heart. A courageous word is a word arising from the heart. The heart, however, is not just the place where our emotions are located. The heart is the centre of our being, the centre of all thoughts, feelings, passions, and decisions. A courageous life, therefore, is a life lived from the center. It is a deeply rooted life, the opposite of a superficial life. 'Have courage' therefore means 'Let your center speak.' "My child, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.
