까삐톨린 박물관은 콘세르바토리 궁과 누오보 궁 안에 있습니다. 그 두 궁전들은 캄피도글리오 광장을 사이에 두고 서로 마주보고 있지요. 그 두 궁전들은 캄피도글리오 광장의 일부분 디자인으로써 미켈란젤로가 설계한 것으로서 로마의 고전적인 장소의 심장부를 대표한답니다.
까삐톨린 박물관의 초석은 1471년으로 거슬러 올라갑니다. 따라서, 전세계에서 현존하는 박물관 중에 가장 오래된 건물이라는 근거있는 증거가 되고 있지요.

The Capitoline Museums are housed in the Palazzo dei Conservatori and the Palazzo Nuovo, which face each other across the Piazza del Campidoglio; they were built on the Campidoglio as part of the design of the Square drawn up by Michelangelo. Against the backdrop of the Palazzo dei Senatori, they represent a classic area in the heart of Rome. The foundation of the Capitoline Museums dates back to 1471. There is therefore good reason to consider them the oldest existing public collection in the world.

006. 까삐똘린 미술 갤러리 : 소장 예술품들은 1748-50까지의 사체티, 그리고 삐오 디 사보아의 수집 작품들로 이루어져 있습니다. 그후에 작품 기증과 구입 등으로 소장품 수를 늘려갔습니다. 이 갤러리에는 카라바지오, 구에르치노, 틴토레또, 안니발레 카라치, 파올로 베로네세, 스카르셀리노, 팔마 일 베치오, 티지아노, 루벤스, 안토니오 반 다이크, 칼베르트 등의 작품들이 전시되어 있습니다.

Capitoline Picture Gallery : The collection consists of paintings from the Sacchetti and Pio di Savoia collections, acquired in 1748-50 and subsequently augmented through donations, purchases and legacies. The gallery includes works of Caravaggio, Guercino, Tintoretto, Annibale Carracci, Paolo Veronese, Scarsellino, Palma il Vecchio, Tiziano, Rubens, Antonio van Dyck, Calvaert, etc.
