미국 텍사스(오스틴)대학교에서 고등교육행정학을 전공하고, 캐나다에서 대학행정가와 교수로서의 생활을

마치고 은퇴한 교육학자/시인 이정규 박사 (캐나다 캘거리 교구 성루카 본당 교우)가

Nature, Human, and Spirituality> (자연, 사람 그리고 영성의 노래)라는 영문 시집을 출간했다.

이 시집은 3월 단행본으로 독일 Lambert Academic Publishing 소속 기관인 JustFiction Edition 에서 출판

되었다. 이 영문 시집은 이 박사가 지난 수 년 동안 고국의 시골과 캐나다 캘거리에서 작시한 시를 엮어 저

자가 영어로 번역 것이다. 이 시 모음집은 그간 한국 천주교에서 발간하는 신문과 경향잡지를 비롯하여 여

러 신앙 잡지에 실린 시, 일반 신문에 게재되었던 시, 그리고 저자의 몇몇 학술서에서 부록으로 게재되었던

시 중에서 칠십 편의 시를 선별하고 엮어 발간되었다.

이 시집은 아직도 제대로 다듬어지지 않은 학문을 갈고 닦으며 수 십 년 동안 국내외에서 생활하면서 간간

이 떠오른 시상을 붙잡아 미숙한 글 솜씨로 표현하였다. 자연을 사랑하고, 소박한 사람을 사랑하고, 영성을

추구하며 마음의 평안을 바라는 사람들에게 이 시들이 위안의 씨앗이 되길 두 손 모아 정중하게 소망한다.

이 시집은 크게 세 부문의 노래로 구성됐다. 제1편은 고국의 자연과 삶을 그린 ‘자연의 노래’, 제2편은 나

자신과 가족 그리고 사람의 일상 생활을 그린 ‘사람의 노래’, 제3편은 주로 고국의 산촌에서 신앙 생활을

하면서 느낀 ‘영성의 노래’이다.

저자는 1950년 경상남도 통영시 태평동 출생 교육학자 및 시인으로서 미국 텍사스대(오스틴/ The

University of Texas at Austin)에서 고등교육행정학으로 철학박사학위(Ph.D.)를 받았으며, 독일어, 철학, 교

육심리학, 교육행정학 등을 독일 트리어대와 캐나다 앨버타대, 그리고 미국 몬타나대 등에서 공부했다. 이

박사는 캐나다 브리티시컬럼비아대 초빙교수와 센트럴칼리지 학장을 역임, 국내에선 한국교육개발원 교육

정책연구본부 연구위원, 홍익대 교육경영관리 대학원 대학행정전공 겸임교수를 역임했다. 국제학술지

‘Educational Administration and Policy Studies’ 편집위원, ‘The Cambridge Journal of Education, Higher

Education’ 등 평가위원을 지냈다. 국내에선 한국대학신문 전문위원 겸 칼럼니스트로도 활동했다.

학문적 성과도 인정받아 세계 3대 인명사전인 ‘마르퀴스 후즈 후’, 영국 켐브리지 IBC ‘세계인명사전’, 미국

ABI 선정 ‘Great Minds of 21st Century’ 등에 등재됐다. 이 박사의 저서와 학술논문은 국내외와 국제기구

(UN, UNESCO, OECD)의 여러 학술지/출판사에 한국어, 영어, 불어, 독일어, 스페인어, 이탈리아어, 

포르투갈어, 중국어 등으로 게재 혹은 출판됐다. 그리고 시집 ‘산촌의 노래’, ‘자연과 영성의 노래’, ‘삶의 노

래’가 있다.

주요 국문 저서로는 ‘한국 사회의 학력/학벌주의 기원과 발달’, ‘한국의 고등교육: 종교와 문화의 관점에서’,

‘대학, 행복을 위한 황금 열쇠인가’, ‘대학 교육과 행복: 사회정의 관점에서’, ‘동서양의 고전에서 찾은 지혜
