2022-05-07 ㅣ No.154928 헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘! 5월 7일 <크게 늘어나는 기적을 본다는 것> Seeing the Miracle of Multiplication 쪼들린 마음가짐(궁핍)과 맞서는 게 가멸찬 마음가짐(풍요)입니다. 가멸찬 마음가짐으론 이렇게 말합니다. "모든 이가 누리기에 넉넉합니다. 먹거리도 지식도 사랑도... 모든 게 넉넉합니다." 이런 마음가짐에서 우리가 가진 게 무엇이든지 누구에게나 베푸는 겁니다. 굶주린 이를 만나면 먹거리를 챙겨주고 미처 배우지 못한 이에겐 알고 있는 지식을 함께 나눕니다. 사랑을 제대로 받지 못한 이에겐 우애와 정성과 환대를 베풀고 가족이나 친지들과 서로 만나는 자리를 마련합니다. 이런 마음가짐으로 살아가면 우리가 베푸는 먹거리나 지식, 사랑까지 모든 게 크게 늘어나는 기적을 보게 될 겁니다. 당연히 남은 것들도 많아 질 겁니다. "이스라엘 자손들의 온 공동체가 광야에서 모세와 아론에게 불평하였다. 이들에게 이스라엘 자손들이 말하였다. “아, 우리가 고기 냄비 곁에 앉아 빵을 배불리 먹던 그때, 이집트 땅에서 주님의 손에 죽었더라면! 그런데 당신들은 이 무리를 모조리 굶겨 죽이려고, 우리를 이 광야로 끌고 왔소?” ---주님께서 모세에게 이렇게 이르셨다. “나는 이스라엘 자손들이 불평하는 소리를 들었다. 그들에게 이렇게 일러라. ‘너희가 저녁 어스름에는 고기를 먹고, 아침에는 양식을 배불리 먹을 것이다. 그러면 너희는 내가 주 너희 하느님임을 알게 될 것이다.’” 그날 저녁에 메추라기 떼가 날아와 진영을 덮었다. 그리고 아침에는 진영 둘레에 이슬이 내렸다. 이슬이 걷힌 뒤에 보니, 잘기가 땅에 내린 서리처럼 잔 알갱이들이 광야 위에 깔려 있는 것이었다. 이것을 보고 이스라엘 자손들은 그것이 무엇인지 몰라, “이게 무엇이냐?” 하고 서로 물었다. 모세가 그들에게 말하였다. “이것은 주님께서 너희에게 먹으라고 주신 양식이다. -- 그래서 그들은 아침마다, 제가 먹을 만큼만 거두어들였다. 해가 뜨거워지면 그것은 녹아 버렸다."(탈출16,2-3,11-15,21) Seeing the Miracle of Multiplication MAY 7 The opposite of a scarcity mentality is an abundancy mentality. With an abundancy mentality we say: “There is enough for everyone, more than enough: food, knowledge, love … everything.” With this mind-set we give away whatever we have, to whomever we meet. When we see hungry people we give them food. When we meet ignorant people we share our knowledge; when we encounter people in need of love, we offer them friendship and affection and hospitality and introduce them to our family and friends. When we live with this mind-set, we will see the miracle that what we give away multiplies: food, knowledge, love … everything. There will even be many leftovers. "In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The Israelites said to them, "If only we had died by the Lord's hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into the desert to starve this entire assembly to death." The Lord said to Moses, "I have heard the grumbling of the Israelites. Tell them, 'At twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.' " That evening quail came and covered the camp, and in the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp. When the dew was gone, thin flakes like frost appeared on the desert floor. When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, "What is it?" For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them, "It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat." Each morning everyone gathered as much as was needed and when the sun grew hot, it melted away." - Exodus 16: 2-3, 11-15, 21 (NIV) † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
