2021-12-19 ㅣ No.151684 헨리 나웬 신부님(1932.1.24-1996.9.21)의 오! 그리고 늘 ! 12월 19일 [(자) 대림 제4주일] <산꼭대기 체험> The Mountaintop Experience 때때로 우리와 주위가 완전히 일치하는 걸 체험합니다. 산꼭대기에 서서 경치에 사로잡힐 때 그럴 수 있습니다. 아기가 태어나거나 친구가 이승을 떠나는 걸 볼 때 그럴 지 모릅니다. 친밀하게 대화를 나누거나 가족끼리 밥을 먹을 때 그럴 수 있습니다. 교회에서 예식을 거행하거나 조용한 방에서 기도드릴 때 그럴지 모릅니다. 하지만 장소든 방식이든 그런 체험을 할 때마다 우리는 혼잣말을 합니다. “바로 이거구나. 모든 게 딱 들어 맞네.… 내가 바랐던 게 모두 여기 있네.” 바로 이것이 베드로와 야고보, 요한이 타볼산 꼭대기에서 예수님의 얼굴이 달라지고 의복이 하얗게 번쩍이는 걸 보았을 때 체험한 겁니다. 제자들은 이 순간이 영원히 이어지기를 바랐습니다 (루카 9, 28-36 참조). 때가 찬 걸 체험하는 건 바로 이겁니다. 이 순간들은 우리가 받는 것이므로 하느님께서 멀리 계시고 모든 게 헛되고 쓸데없다는 생각이 들 때에도 기억할 수 있는 겁니다. 이러한 체험이 짜장 은총의 순간입니다. The Mountaintop Experience DECEMBER 19 At some moments we experience complete unity within us and around us. This may happen when we stand on a mountaintop and are captivated by the view. It may happen when we witness the birth of a child or the death of a friend. It may happen when we have an intimate conversation or a family meal. It may happen in church during a service or in a quiet room during prayer. But whenever and however it happens we say to ourselves: “This is it … everything fits … all I ever hoped for is here.” This is the experience that Peter, James, and John had on the top of Mount Tabor when they saw the aspect of Jesus’ face change and his clothing become sparkling white. They wanted that moment to last forever (see Luke 9:28-36). This is the experience of the fullness of time. These moments are given to us so that we can remember them when God seems far away and everything appears empty and useless. These experiences are true moments of grace. † 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 아멘.
